Official Fakemon Contest #1!

Hello, Uranium fans, artists and creative people alike! We're all here in part due to our love of fan-made Pokemon, so I'd like to give you the opportunity to show off your creativity in a Fakemon Contest, hosted by myself and your friendly Moderator Mercury45!

What is a fakemon? You should know this by now...
A Fakemon is a fan-designed Pokemon. Uranium has over 100 of them! There are so many cool ideas for Pokemon, but with a limited number of official ones, there's no way that there can be one for every idea and creature that's out there. All it takes is to look at an animal or object and think, "that could be a Pokemon!"

For this contest, artistic skills are not necessary. It doesn't matter if all you have on hand is a pencil and paper, or MS Paint: if you have a great idea, then that will shine through!

This contest's theme is: Anything Goes! To start things off, any idea you might have is fair game. Just make whatever you have always wanted to see as a Pokemon.

• Each entry must include an image of the fakemon, a name and a type. You may include extra info, such as stats, moves, and dex entries, if you wish.
  
• Any style of image is permissible: hand-drawn, digital artwork, sprites, 3D models... however you wish to express yourself!
  
• Each contestant may enter up to 2 times.
  
• All art and related information must be your own work.
  
• This contest will close once there are 15 entries, or 2 weeks from now on April 20th.
  

This contest will be judged by myself and Mercury45, based on two criteria:

Idea (*/10): This grade focuses on the concept; the creativity and thought behind it, as well as its believably. The more novel the idea, the better!

Execution (*/10): This grade focuses on the artwork; The better quality the artwork, the higher the score. Use of color and shading will get you a higher grade in this category.

The scores are added together, and an average of both judge's scores are taken for a total out of 20.


Of course, we can't have a good contest without prizes!
Unfortunately, this contest is not for new Pokemon to be added in to Pokemon Uranium -- we've already decided on all 151 Pokemon that will appear in the finished game. But, that doesn't mean we can't offer other rewards!

• Third place will receive a place in the contest Hall of Fame, as well as a banner for their signature!
  
• Second place will receive a place in the contest Hall of Fame, a banner for their signature, and a sketch of their fakemon by Twitch!
  
• First place will receive a place in the contest Hall of Fame, a banner for their signature, and either a sprite or artwork of their fakemon by Twitch!

Hello, hello! Mercury here, and as Twitch said I'll be the secondary judge on this!

Twitch covered pretty much everything that needed to be said, but I'd just like to add how excited I am to see what people come up with. There's some really creative people here in the Uranium forums, and I for one am anticipating some great things from you all!

So... get out there and get brainstorming, folks, and make some things we'll regret never being able to catch in a real game!

No, shiny versions would just be an added bonus. But if you made an evolution or preevolution, that would count as your second!

Chokazoom: Companion Pokemon
Chokazoom is a pokemon based on a Breegull (For those of you who don't know that would be Kazooie from Banjo-Kazooie) and a chocobo (from Final Fantasy).
Type: Flying/Normal
Ability: Quick Feet, Swift Swim, Unburden
Dex Entry: A Prized pokemon among trainers. Chokazoom comes in various colors and is adept in flying, running, and swimming, making it one of the most sought after traveling partners.
Evolves from: Chizoomie
Evolves into: Mega Chokazoom

My Submission for the Contest

Pokemon Name: NUCLEAVE
This pokemon is based on a Raptor (Bird of prey) who gets irradiated due to Nuclear fallout, turning it into a freak of nature. it is filled with deadly radiation.
Type: STEEL/FLYING (Can also learn Fire and Poison Moves)
Ability: EFFECT SPORE/ ADAPTABILITY
Dex Entry: These pokemon are found near areas of radiation leakage and in abandoned Nuclear Powe Plants. contact with these Pokemon can cause severe ailments. so, train them with EXTREME CAUTION!!

Treasure Snake Pokemon

Evolves into: Gildepent
Type: Poison
Abilities: Intimidate, Shed Skin
Hidden Ability: Marvel Scale
Dex Entry: Naggleem, similar to Sableye, gets it's gem like scales and appearance from it's diet of jewels and gold. It resides within the tombs of ancient pharaohs and protects them from grave robbers. It's said that when Nagleem shakes it's tail, the diamond rattle creates a high pitched sound that strikes fear into those who hear it.
(Idk if this is sprite work or pixel art. you decide)

Mythical Fountain Guardian Pokemon
Evolves From: Nothing
Evolves into: Nothing
Type: Water Fairy
Abilities: Aura Break
Hidden Ability: Water Absorb
Dex Entry: Merpius, the guardian of the healing fountain. It is believed that whenever you see Merpius around, you are near the healing fountain which can turn all infected pokemon back to their normal selves. Merpius is believed to be the only pokemon to be able to control the power of the healing fountain.
Moveset: 1) fountain embrace (A move which can  completely heal your party pokemon's hp and status)
2) Water Exchange (Using the power of the healing fountain, it can exchange the hp of itself with its opponent)
3) Fairy Wind
4) Light of heaven (Using the sign on its body, It shoots a beam of light to do tremendous damage to its opponent)

(P.S. Since i am having my exams, I could not add in any color to it. Besides, i am not good at drawing eyes, so feel free to change it =] Same for animal furs. Also, the blue thing on its head is actually a water drop)

I made today this one, Name: DORAGG.
Dex entry (expanded): Dragon rarely seen , inhabiting vast and silent caves and temperate forests. Shown at night and usually challenge any opponent since it is proud of his power .
It is often said that the look of it disturbs even the most intrepid and experienced trainer.
Types: Dragon/ghost
Evolves from: Nothing
Evolves to: Nothing
Weight: 50 kg
Lenght: 1.5 m
Ability: Pure scale (something like clear body, but in add: prevents status afflictions, like paralysis, burning, etc.).
Hidden Ability: Sacred pride (Adds 0.5 to att. and sp. att. but losses speed).
Can learn dragon claw and shadow claw (same level), dragon tail, dragon breath, dragon dance, crunch, mean look, sludge bomb (fairy type counter), and his signature move is ominous glare, that charge one turn and next increases accuracy one level, reduces two levels def. and sp def. of enemy but has poor pp (5)).

This is my submission, it's a Legendary Pokémon called:

Name: Xenomical - Pollution Pokémon
The name comes from the combination of Xenodermus; which is a type snake and also called the dragonsnake; and the word chemical.
Type: Dragon/Poison
Ability: Toxic Boost
Dex Entry: Xenomical is the living embodiment of pollution. Where ever it goes, it leaves a trail of evidence and is the main cause of acid rain. Xenomical rarely leaves the pollution cloud it lives and because of this people have no idea how big and/or long its real body is.

Also, I should mention that entering stolen art (art that is not your own) will disqualify you entirely from the current contest. Entries that violate contest rules, such as entering a fakemon that's an evolution or preevolution of a canon pokemon, will be disqualified as well, although you can still enter with a design that follows the contest guidelines.

Fidderab
Fiddler crab Pokemon
Fidderab is based of a hermit crab and a fiddler crab
Type:Water
Ability: Torrent
dex entry: This pokemon's shell never grows or changes. Fidderab will turn its shell into a tower when in combat

Idea: the idea behind this pokemon is that as it grow the shell stays the same eventually being used as a weapon by its third stage mega evolution
Fun fact: it is colored but  forgot that at school today

We did indeed! Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry to the contest, it was a lot of fun looking over them. As you can guess, the contest is now officially over, and all that's left to wait for is the scoring.

I've already sent my scores to Twitch, and she'll be the one to post with the results when those are ready. Right now she's finishing up her semester abroad in Mexico, so please be patient if it takes a little time!

Oooooh! I wanna enter the next contest! I can finally revive my artistic skills!

When is the next contest anyway? (Do you have to make art of them? Because I can only describe.)
