Hidden Power
So, I don't know if it's possible but I taught my flaffy hidden power and it's super effective on every type. Does this mean it's nuclear? Is that possible? If so, then it seems like I got super lucky, right?

Re: Hidden Power
Thats lucky as hell, it'd be cool to find out how to get that on a pokemon predictably.

Re: Hidden Power
Just recently in a thread I think Hidden Power Nuclear was mentioned as supposed to be a thing, so I would say that you did get lucky and get Nuclear as the HP.

Re: Hidden Power
Yeah, right now hidden power Nuclear is a thing, but we will probably remove it when we update Hidden Power's mechanics to 6th gen. (Right now, it's the pre-5th gen version where the power is variable. 5th gen and beyond, it has a fixed 60 power.)
If you manage to get a Nuclear-type hidden power, consider yourself very lucky!

Re: Hidden Power
So your formula for hidden power doesn't follow the old formula being based off the last digit of IV in binary?
I.E perfect IVs gives dark type 70 power?

Re: Hidden Power
She is saying it is the old formula, but with an adjustment to add Nuclear as a possible HP.

Re: Hidden Power
So with the new update, it'll lose it's nuclear type? It's been extremely useful so far.
I don't really know anything about EV/IVs honestly. I stopped playing the games years ago when emerald came out and this is the first game I've played since then haha.
But here's what is listed on that page:
HP: 5/6
Attack: 15/25
Defense: 14/1
Sp. Attack: 31/13
Sp. Def. 39/23
Speed: 29/3
Quiet Nature
Currently lvl 28
Would someone be able to give me a brief description of what they are? I'm assuming that they determine the base strength of the stats or something like that.

Re: Hidden Power
Err I'm on mobile atm but yes they affect your stats.at level 100 each 4 ev points (first number) is equal to one point in that stat, the number evs per point increases the lower your level. You can have maximum 255 ev in one stat (changed to 252 in general Iv to prevent wasting 6 points) and 510 in total. You gain evs for beating other Pokemon, the stat being related to the base stats of the Pokemon defeated I. E beat a empirilla you'll get some atk evs. You can also train evs at the guy in legend town who lives in a ninja style hut, this makes it easy to Max out evs in the stats you want.
Iv are the second numbers, those are randomised and fixed when: you first encounter that specific Pokemon in the wild, you recieve an egg, they don't change and I'm not currently sure if they follow the same ratio of 4:1, the maximum Iv in a stat is 31, shiny pokemon have 31 Iv in every stat.
Hidden powers type and power are generated by the last digit of the ev needs when generated in binary, hence why I asked your Iv so I could guess which Pokemon might have a nuclear type hidden power. Look on bulbapedia for more info

Re: Hidden Power
Ok, IV's make sense now completely and I understand all the breeding nonsense everyone always does haha. So my flaffy's aren't too great. Oh well, just evolved to Ampharoros and that double whammy super effect on dual types is usually better than using electric types. Got a powerhouse now.
I still don't quite understand EV's so I'll read up on them on my own.

Re: Hidden Power
Easy way to see the effects of EV is in the pokemon uranium wiki, where it shows the stats of the pokemon.
The bar is the base stats, the range is the base at level 50/100 to the stats when having 252/31 on the EV/IV page at level 50/100.
For example on Baariette page (Not able to link, too new ) his attack bar is 100, at level 50 the range is 160 to 207 attack, you gain 47 attack for having 252 EV and 31 IV in the attack stat. This becomes an increase of 97 atk at level 100 for having max EV/IV.

Re: Hidden Power
Just want to point out that shiny Pokemon don't necessarily have 31 in all stats, just the ones given out on Mystery Gift do.
Re: Hidden Power
oh, they were linked to IV in Gen I and Gen II, my bad.
