Just went through Comet Cave.Terlard was supposed to battle me and prevent me from leaving the cave. I didn't and I just walked out. The hiker even said I fought one. I had a repel on, was that the cause?

It's because of a bug that caused players not to be able to progress upon losing to Terlard. They just removed the event all together.
