I'm trying to figure out how to trade but I have no idea how. All the threads I see mention this virtual trainer thing and I'm not sure what that is...

Go to the upstairs of any pokemart and there will be three stations. First is the GTS (trading system). Second is the Wonder Trade (random trade). Third is the Online Battle Station.
