Disappearing Trainer/NPC on Route 9 Empty Disappearing Trainer/NPC on Route 9

Was on Route 9. Saved the game and exited the program.

When I turned the game back on a couple of hours later, the bright orange trainer in the corner (at least I think it's a trainer) has disappeared.
