WHAT IS THE ITEM OR GEM I NEED TO USE AT THE SECOND GYM IN BUROLE CITY

Hi, I am a Severely Confused Noob and i have absolutely no idea what to do. I am at the second gym and i am stuck as i can not find anything to put into the ladder thing. I can't go into comet cave and i talked to everyone i can talk to, but nothing is working. Help me please.

Break the rocks in the gym, they're there for a reason.

I understand that this might be confusting but this question is all ready been answered on the forums. Next time please just do some digging around before making another thread with a kinda spammy title.
