Pokedex #: 96

Type: Water/Steel

Base Stats: 70 HP/ 110 Atk/ 75 Def/ 53 SpA/ 50 SpD/ 110 Spe
Mega Evolution: Currently Unknown. Will update when info is released

Ability: Swift Swim

So what does Daikatuna bring to the table? Well for starters it has an extremely strong typing defensive wise. Its base Attack and Speed are pretty good, but sadly that are the only stats that are good, leaving him to the role of sweeper. Its main weakness imo is its move pool. So what are some good move sets/item choices to you guys? I will go first.

Daikatuna @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Adamant Nature
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP

  • Earthquake
  • Aqua Tail
  • Iron Head
  • Swords Dance

This move set gives him good coverage, with Iron Head and Aqua Tail getting STAB coverage as well as Aqua Tail being strong against any Ground types. The miss chance on Aqua Tail is really annoying and risky but since we do not have Waterfall yet it is the best choice. Swords Dance is great if you can get a turn to setup on. Having a pokemon setup a Rainy Day in advance will also make your sweep much stronger with Swift Swim giving an extra boost to speed. So what do you guys think about this move set and this pokemon in general?

They can't learn it yet you are correct. You also cant mega evolve yet but I included that as well. Also Dive is still in the game just no one can learn it yet =P. This is more for theory crafting since there are still moves not in the game yet then it is for actual use. Although once Dive is in this will probably be my move set.

But does Dive costs you two turns? I remember this is like dig or fly... I started a post in suggestions asking for a TM waterfall or a way to obtain this move cause is the perfect one for water physical atackers. So I think daikatuna and also gyarados need this, since it happens they are perfectly replaced by other sweepers. The rest of moves are perfect dude!

Dive is indeed a 2 turn move, and you can actually mega evolve already after the 7th gym!

I couldnt find anything for Waterfall being in the game =( thats why it wasnt up there. I will check around on the site and see if there is any word of it being added. And yeah I meant Daikatuna's mega not being available yet (Stone is probably in the areas we need Dive tor each)

Edit: I see you have already asked. Yeah it completely slipped my mind that Dive was two turn. Dang guess that means we will have to stick with Aqua Tail until we get Waterfall.

Edited the post to Aqua Tail. Will definitely edit it again and change Aqua Tail for Waterfall when it releases as a HM or Tutor move though. We need more Physical water attacks in the game lol.

I plan to be pretty active i this section of the forums as well guys =). My next discussion post will either be Pajay or Theriamp.
