Why is East Tandor so laggy?
As soon as I transition from West to East, I get a ton of lag, and Venesi city and the route before it are even worse!

There have been many issues with lag. I think one explanation that came from Twitch was that there are some sections of East Tandor where large amounts of map are kept loaded at a time when they probably don't need to be.

Re: Why is East Tandor so laggy?
Today I tried to use the GTS, so it asked me to update and I did. Now I find it the game stutters and lags roughly 3x as much as it used to before updating. I'll uninstall and reinstall just vanilla and let you guys know the result.
EDIT: just reinstalled vanilla, cancelled the patch and yes, the lag decreased noticeably when compared to the update.

Re: Why is East Tandor so laggy?
This is in 4.2.3? That's odd... we definitely took some measures to cut down on lag. Were there issues with the Falling Leaves effect persisting in the overworld? Any reason you can think of that's causing this lag is greatly appreciated.
Re: Why is East Tandor so laggy?
Well, this is just a wild guess, so here goes.
I just noticed that now when I open Pokemon Uranium, it opens my LAV splitter, which tipically opens only when I'm playing videos (I use CCCP if that helps). It opened one or two in vanilla 4.2 but I noticed that in 4.2.3 it opened up to three times as soon as it booted up, so maybe there's something going on there.
I think Uranium opens using my regular onboard video card since it's not process intensive, IDK if it would act any different in my NVidia one, will try if that would help.
EDIT: still playing in vanilla 4.2 but yes, changing GPU DOES make a noticeable difference, reducing lag and stuttering in roughly 70%. Now this is a dedicated video card so it's kind of overkill for a pokemon game, but it does help, IDK how would it fare on 4.2.3
EDIT 2: Another update, I just noticed that while using the onboard GPU, Uranium lost focus and stopped everything as soon as I alt-tabbed to anything else, whilst the NVidia GPU does in fact keep Uranium running, regardless of focus or not.

Re: Why is East Tandor so laggy?
My lag was always near Rochfale Town, because of the falling leaves I think.
Re: Why is East Tandor so laggy?
Falling leaves have also caused a large amount of lag for me as well near Rochfale

Re: Why is East Tandor so laggy?
Ok, something happened where I could not open the F1 menu after I downgraded to 4.2 so I updated again and found a 4.2.3b so here's my status report:
-As per usual, it keeps on opening a ton of instances of my LAV Splitter, then closing and opening new ones, when I open my background services I see a lot of icons that dissapear when I hover over them until two are remaining.
-The falling leaves outside of Rochfale persist, this does not bother me particularly as it's only strange that a cave has falling leaves (see below).
-Performance on the onboard graphics card (Intel HD3000) has been improved by roughly 12%, it still lags a lot, specially in the falling leaves area.
-Performance on the dedicated graphics card (NVidia GeForce GT 630M) has been SIGNIFICANTLY improved, with some stuttering here and there, but overall running well.
I changed my NVidia settings so it always runs Uranium using the dedicated GPU instead of the global one, but it kind of feels like overkill. Anyway, if more people has hybrid GPU (one dedicated, one integrated) try running Uranium on your dedicated card and see what happens.

Re: Why is East Tandor so laggy?
Simple, because 4.2.3 was stalling my fps badly, while 4.2 was running smooth. As no major feature was lost from downgrading, I did so to enjoy faster framerate and less choppy transitions.
