Cannot save game

Maybe i'm doing something wrong or have missed a key piece of info. because when i hit C in game to arrow over bag > options > and so on til i get to save, i click yes and it says save failed.

Can you copy+paste the error that it gives you or take a screenshot? Also, make sure you are connected to the Internet the first time you save the game, so that it can save your Online ID.

also, does the mystery gift offer expire?

We change the Pokemon on Mystery Gift periodically, so yes it does expire. Also, you can only receive every Mystery Gift once across all your save files.
