Weird Lag Spikes

There seems to be lag spikes scattered throughout the game, first and most notably in the area between Kevlar Town and Passage Cave (Owten's Nook?); I've experienced a few others scattered throughout, but not nearly as consistently.

This might be a problem with my computer, though I have seen others with this problem as well.

Any way to fix this for future versions if it's a common problem? Thanks!
