Really slow text
So im playing and then the text speed drops dramatically. Usually it's fast but sometimes it goes like one letter every second.
*Edit* Not just the text, the frames drop as well.

Re: Really slow text
This lag has been noted, we've found the cause and will be releasing a patch for it soon.
Re: Really slow text
The new patcher doesn't seem to have any effect on my performance, in any case, it worsened it.

Same for me. It has worsened since updating to 4.2. It's not bad when I am in a house or cave, but the overworld seems to run really choppy.DeathRinger69 wrote:The new patcher doesn't seem to have any effect on my performance, in any case, it worsened it.

Can you guys be really precise in describing this? (the map you are on, the tiles you're walking on, music, sound effects etc) I can't reproduce this problem on my end so it's really difficult to fix it, so I need that kind of info to give me a direction.

Sure thing! I am currently in Rochfale/Route 6. It happens the most when I walk through bushes and there is some kind of weather on the screen (happens also when there is no weather, but more intermittently). Entering into battles/houses/caves alleviates this issue. I currently have sound disabled (f1 doesn't seem to bring up the menu to change volume options anymore). Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but when I have the game running, multiple instances of ffdshow audio decoder show up in notifications area (lower left corner expand arrow in Windows 7)
My computer is an Acer Aspire 5742-6682 laptop running windows 7 Home Premium with an intel i3 370, 4gb ram, with an Intel HD Graphics chipset of Mobile Intel HM55 Express.
Please let me know if I can provide you with any more details and I want to thank you very much for your time and attention.

Re: Really slow text
On my side, I usually lag a lot at Venesi City particularly and everywhere else seems to be fine. I agree with Kortall about the fact that the houses inside are fine and how weather conditions do worsen the performance.
My laptop is a Asus T100TA with Windows 8.1 and 2GB ram and 1.33GHz.
Thank you for helping out sort this issue!

Re: Really slow text
This may not be the entire issue, but it's possible that your laptops specs are not of the quality to optimally run the game. I have a pretty beefy laptop (MSi GP60 w/ i7-4770, 8GB RAM, etc.) and my game doesn't appear to lag that I have noticed.

Re: Really slow text
The problem though is that I lag out more in certain places than others. From the top of my head I can think of Route 1 and Venesi City.
