"Can't" Escape Empty "Can't" Escape

When attempting to flee a battle, if it fails, it says "Can't Escape", but nothing is actually preventing you from fleeing in many instances, you just failed to escape in general. Thus, it should really say "Couldn't Escape", to show that you failed the roll to flee, rather than are not allowed to.

This suggestion may or may not be more work than it is worth depending on how fleeing works.
If there are different instances of fleeing then this should be easier:
An effect like Rock Tomb would say "[Name] is trapped and cannot escape!"
An ability such as Arena Trap could that "[Name] cannot escape!"
Normal fleeing without any effects, but failing to escape would be "[Name] couldn't escape!"

Haven't played enough to know if most of these are already a thing, but at the very least the basic fail-to-flee is incorrectly stated. Smile

I think they just want to stick with the main series game on this one and ignore the technicalities.

What you're saying makes sense, but it's not tradition from Gen 1.

We shall see if they respond, it could very well have been a simple oversight when putting the game together on their engine, just using what they are used too from past games. Razz
