Water Pulse for SF1-A?
SF1-A doesn't have too many Mega Launcher moves, except for Dark and Laser Pulse. Water Pulse could help, and if he can't (I haven't checked then Aura Sphere could help, too.

In my opinion Laser Pulse and Dark Pulse are enough Mega Launcher moves, because it does need the STAB with Psychic and Flash Cannon.

Can someone please explain to a novice what you mean by mega launcher moves and STAB?

Mega launcher is an ability which S-51 gets when it mega evolves it boosts the power of aura and pulse moves.
STAB means Same Type Attack Boost. Every Pokemon gets it. For example, if a water type Pokemon uses a water move, then It's damage is boosted an extra 50%. Let's say it uses Hydro Pump. 120 gets 60 added for 180 damage. Also, If a Pokemon has 2 types, for example, Houndoom is both Fire and Dark, that means that both Fire and Dark moves receive STAB. Flamethrower does 142.5 instead of 95, and Crunch does 120 instead of 80.
Multiply the Move's Base Damage times 1.5 to find out how much the move does with Stab.

There's a little more to damage calculation than this - the actual amount of damage done is usually a lot different than the base power. Basically, though, it depends on:
- Your attack stat (physical or special, depending on the move) divided by their defense stat - this gives you a number to multiply the base damage by.
- The move's base power
- Your level. A higher level Pokemon will do more damage even if it has the same stats.
STAB boosts the power by 1.5.
After that, you apply other effects like supereffective, critical hits, ability boosts (like Mega Launcher), area effects (for example, rain powers up water moves and weakens fire), etc.
[/list]
The main things are base power, STAB, attack stat, and level.
