Just a heads up, I haven't forgotten about this! (Well, I did... kinda. For a little while. I know, I know, it's June.) I'll have the judging results ready in a couple of days' time.

Must sprites be made strictly from scratch?

For example, I want to make a bird/horse pokemon. I copy Rapidash's body onto a canvas, and only the body. Then, I draw legs, head and tail (Easy parts). I paste Pidgetto's wings onto the body, and only the wings. Then, I draw the details and recolor/recolour.

I do this as I don't have a proper mousepad and the mouse often goes haywire. This makes it difficult to draw things from scratch. When the sprite is ready, it will look like a totally different pokemon.

Will the next contest be themed if it is hosted at all?

I'd like to know so I do not go all out on a fakemon and then have it never compete.

That'll be determined once Twitch chooses what the next contest is.

Also, if you're worried about that it might be best to wait until the contest is announced before working on an entry! We'll make sure to give you plenty of time to complete your art before judging happens.

Okay, I might wait or I might get too antsy and just design like 20 to form their own ecosystem, who knows.
