Nuclear/Hazard Trainer Class Empty Nuclear/Hazard Trainer Class

Post by JDogindy 2015-01-27, 18:49

I'm curious if there are plans for a class of Trainers that are built around using Nuclear-type Pokemon that can hang out at Nuclear Plants or Hazardous Fields (my idea for an area in desperate need of Superfund cleaning).

Now, I'm more than certain they will have to wear Hazard Suits (a shameless, as said by Involuntary-Twitch, allusion to ORAS's Magma & Aqua Suits), which is probably what the Trainer must possess in order to enter these polluted sites, meaning they'll require original sprites for both them and probably the Trainer when in these areas. That's more work.

I also have ideas of a side quest involving a recurring Trainer that is in charge of code enforcement and can be fought at least twice.

Of course, I do hope new non-feral Nuclear Fakemon are on the conception phase. I have some ideas... just not good ones.

I've been wondering if they'll introduce an original criminal organization (or dubious group) to the game and hopefully if they do, they'll have this kind of trainers.

I can't speak on the introduction of new trainer classes (because I don't know), but there almost definitely won't be a "villainous team" like in official Pokemon games. Uranium's set out to tell a story without them, which I think is a pretty refreshing change from the formula.

There will be a new Nuclear-type in future updates that obeys you! The adorable Hazma is a friendly Nuclear-type that actually helps clean up nuclear waste, and you'll be able to get it sometime in the future. Plus, it's so huggable!

I think there should be a warning in it's summary as well. "Warning!: Hugging this pokemon can be dangerous. Proceed with caution and love." Razz

Uh... not really.  I mean, when I was thinking of this, I was looking at this being an Occupational Trainer, like Sailors and Policemen, as opposed to being Team Criminal Grunts.  Tandor's got Nuclear Plants and given the track record of the facilities, accidents can happen.  Somebody has to clean up the sites ("It's a living!"), and obviously, they need to look unique.  Involuntary-Twitch already doodled a concept piece of the Hazard Suit, and I can work on designs for the Hazard Worker class if there are plans for them involved.

This I prefer.  I mean, we feel obligated to have a criminal team, but personally, I'd rather an installment of Pokemon not feature a criminal syndicate, as it feels like you cannot write a Pokemon story without throwing a wrench into the progression of the character.  I like the fact that the backstory of the main character, as well as the side quests, are what works best for the progression of the game.  Rather, the enviroment is worthwhile as it is.

Yeah, Hazma this is such a cutie.  :3 (Couldn't quote the image since I just signed in a few days ago)

Don't we have kind of a villainous gang already? I'm refering to the Dunsparce Gang Wink
One could implement a more complex story around them.

For example: they got rude because they had a trauma after bumping into a giant Nuclear Dunsparce or Dunseraph. After this coincidence they got fearful and so they wanted to be alone ever since (that's why they can be found in a cave all alone with their Dunsparces.

They're not really a serious group of antagonists, or even a major obstacle, which is what I think was being asked about originally. They might show up again, though, wait and see.

I really like the 'break from tradition' and not having a crime syndicate that's been done. If, if , I ever have to bear "Team Rocket is blasting off agaaaiinnnnn" I'll be 'blasting' my palm into face ha haha Very Happy

Got that. The criminal organization is a suggestion on my part. Just the having the Hazard Worker class is okay. I wouldn't push the issue with the villain team further if the developers have already made up their mind about it.

Yeah, that's the focus I had in mind with the Hazard Worker class.

Conversely, there is a female version for this class, as well.

Sorry about some of the details... the execution was a little off in the relay device and the metal detector.
