Friendship and Umbreon

Does anyone have any better way of increasing happiness other than just grinding levels?

Any friendship mechanisms to share?

Just trying to get an umbreon.

Here's a specific answer:
PRO: In bealbeach city inside the casino's restaurant there's the pkmn groomer you can use once per day.
There's the soothe bell pkmn item and walking while in party.

CON: However as far as I know, there are no existing methods to determine how much friendship points a pkmn has, so I can't test which mechanics are used within Uranium. :S
