Original choice in beginning
Not that the pokemon dungeon games weren't great, but probably my most disliked part about them were the fact that you couldn't choose your pokemon. You have to go through a little questionnaire over and over to get the one you want. Its a cool idea and all, but considering every pokemon game so far has not allowed capture of the original 3, I'd like to choose which one I want. Just because I like aggressive natured pokemon and I think protect is better than hyper beam shouldn't dictate me getting any of the three. If its left to random, they're stats and natures should be different every time I start a new game. Basically, my point is that I want to choose my first pokemon. If I want the fire pokemon I should be able to choose it just like in red and blue. I always choose Charmander. Fire is my favorite. The fact that it gave me my least favorite out of the 3 just doesn't sit well with me.

Newest One
The newest one didn't give you a questionnaire. I was able to pick which pokemon I got to be. I choose Axew.

We're not removing the starter test. However, you can pick the starter that you want by following the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] on the Wiki.
For instance, to get Raptorch you need to answer in the following way: Magmar, Aggressive, OHKO, Fame and Money, Hyper Beam.
It's not like you don't have a choice in your starter. We just wanted to do something different than "here are three Poke Balls, pick one" that has been used in so many games in the past. And you can always save beforehand and reload if you don't get the starter that you want. But all the starters are good in battle.
