Nuzlocke settings Empty Nuzlocke settings

Hey, if this has been suggested already then feel free to remove it.

I play Nuzlocke because.. well.. It makes it interesting and would be the best way for me to stream it in the future Smile

What I think is a bit silly is the limit to catching pokémon. If your pokémon die when they faint, then you should be able to catch more pokémon. This would mean you would have to capture low lvl pokémon again and spend time training them up to win the fight again. This in itself is a lot of effort and would make it very devestating to lose your lvl'd pokémon.

Honestly, playing Nuzlocke now it means you either grind your pokémon like crazy before you go into any battle's or you use the glitch where you store a pokémon in the pc and withdraw it again with full health. (If this isn't a glitch then this should also be changed Very Happy)

So, my suggestion, it can even be a toggleable option, remove the pokémon catch limit and make sure dead pokémon stay dead when stored away.

Thanks for reading, loving the game. Awesome job!

One of the primary rules in Nuzlockes is that you can only catch the first Pokemon you encounter per route, and if you run out of Pokemon on your team, it's game over. You're not supposed to be able to go back and catch more -- that's against the spirit of the challenge.

One of the toggle-able settings is the Dubious Clause which allows you to ignore duplicate encounters (Pokemon that you have already caught).

I should also say that we didn't build this game with the intention for players to Nuzlocke it the first time through, as there are some parts which are quite difficult (from Gym 5 onwards) and may result in gameovers for the unprepared. You can try, but don't expect the game to be very forgiving if you choose to do so.

Ow, so you are saying I can catch the same pokémon over and over. Well, that would be a way to solve the issue of game over every 5 minutes. The only way I could ever play pokémon is with this kind of thing. Otherwise there is no use for a mart, items, saves or anything else in the game. Pokémon vanilla is just grind, grind, grind, win, done.
Nuzlocke isn't. If you manage to keep your pokémon alive you grind less and doing so gets you to use items.
I'd rather have a way to capture more pokémon though. I mean. Pokémon being dead when on zero health is pretty obvious. You being unable to capture a lvl 3 whatever when you are rolling around with a team of lvl 20's is just weird. Also, "Gotta catch them all?" Anyways, it does solve part of the issue with it so that's great. Thanks for the responce. Any idea when you'll be removing the bug/glitch where you store them away and they are back alive when you withdraw? Because it's making my game easier :p
Maybe some option to drop dead pokémon maybe?

No, you may not catch Pokemon of the same kind over and over. What Twitch meant was that you may ignore Pokemon you've already caught, catching the first on a route that you haven't yet obtained. (Ie: Any Pokemon with the little "Pokeball symbol" may be skipped, catching only those without.) The only exception is gift Pokemon. You may receive as many as you want of those.

I recommend playing on Normal mode if you want to catch them all. Nuzlocke Mode is meant to be a more serious challenge.

Yes, Nuzlocke is meant to be a more serious challenge. That's what I'm looking for. Sadly the grinding pokémon asks of you is just higher in nuzlocke. With the settings as they are it is not about actually playing good.
So I won't put my time in it further. If you ever decide to put in a mode where you lose dead pokémon (And actually make you lose them) but you can just catch them like you normally would, then be sure to let me know. I'd love to stream that.
People get attached to pokémon, the pokémon get a story and then BAM.. Dead. And you keep going with the baby pokémon you caught before or you go catch some more baby pokémon Smile and people get attached again.

If you want to do that you could just play on normal mode and self-implement the rule that pokemon are unable to be used when they die and release them or put them in a "dead" box.
