So...
Team checking NBWMcOF
Nuzlocke Player here. Have a question to ask about that I feel I've made a good conclusion to but am unsure. Team above; you can see the Inflagetah there. Currently finished the fourth gym, Radiated Pokémon Area 2 done as well. I'm on my way to (I) Am a Tree. First of all;
Any team members I should replace? I have a 2 (possibly 3) box pokémon that aren't dead. One is very behind on levels and the other is a dupe type.

And secondly, was the Flager a good idea? I replaced a pokémon for it. That slot was originally occupied by a level 31 Folerog, which, though originally I had no choice to train it and it was frankly quite rubbish (especially with it not having water moves Sad ) it recently started to be useful. However, I already have Gyarados on my team, and Gyarados has Psuedo-legend stats + single weak to electric. I think that Gyarados would be the better choice, though I could be wrong there.

Doing a nuzlocke, I can catch more pokémon but they might not necessarily be what I was looking for. In the case I do get something good, I hope I can find out quickly enough before it gets behind on level. Smile

Edit: Never mind, I have four boxed. Grozard Egg, Tancoon, Nuclear Ekans, Folerog. EDIT 2: Now has Coathla the Chicoatl. Tancoon is now Tanscure, a part of my team, and not in the box.

To be honest, I recommend grinding a little against rematch trainers before progressing. You have to fight the Seikamater, which is lv 45, before taking on the Amatree Gym. And at the level you are at...you probably will lose a pokemon or two in this shape.

Ah, right. I was planning on doing that, using a fire stone on Flager (tested because you never know) but was prioritising tranining Flager to the other team's levels. I previously fought rematch trainers (Rip in peace Mankey, died to Mankey) and that got me decent EXP. It also kinda overprepared me for Bealbeach Gym because I thought the gym would be near that strength. Except for Cararalm, which was relatively easy even three levels higher than the worst pain on rematch.

So, yay, I need grind. Really really need grind. Will grind+use EXP Share. Thanks for the advice. Very Happy Lv. 45 is really, really intimidating given the things I fought in online battling. Level 40 was enough to make most of my team quiver. Except Gyarados. Somehow Gyarados almost wrecked two.

Waiting on answers to other questions.

Well.
Died to Youngster Cedric's Rematch Barand. Knew it could take one more hit, but static messed things up so my plans with Dig did done gone failure and it took two Force Palm hits.

Looks like I'll need to train another Pokémon. Hmm... I pick the dark type. Yay tripling levels.

EDIT: Updated team on Original Post for convenience.

I'd recommend getting Chicoatl (it's final evolution is awesome and powerful) to replace someone. It's powerful and has great special attack and speed.

Just catch a Modrille and teach it Earthquake or teach your Terlard Earthquake.

Tanscure and terlard are both a bit underwhelming, but frankly you can finish a playthrough with 6 of anything.

For the gym you may as well substitute folerog back in temporarily over s51 or metalynx since they won't have much use in a fire gym.

Nuzlocke is that you can only catch the first pokemon per Route, so you have to be lucky. BTW you can't use S51, because it's not nicknamed, which is a Nuzlocke rule.

Gift pokemon are exempt from that rule.

So that's just like the Shiny Clause? But the first Pokemon on every Route should be put in. Like if you try to use Pokeballs it'd say that you can't use them, except if a Shiny appears.

I did expect Tanscure to be weak, but Terlard? Meh, Groza's quite useful in a lot of ways and I think it's worth keeping on the team, given what I have in the box.

Given Chicoatl's supposed strength, I guess it's worth to get on the team just in case, even if it dupes a type. Looks like something that will turn part flying to me, too, so when why is obtainable it'll have a use. Even if it can't fly I guess it's better than Tanscure.

EDIT: Actually, I think I'll try Nuclear Ekans. Poison has been useful in the past and nuclear is good against everything. Coathla would give an extreme weakness to fire on my team.
---
I don't have an earthquake TM.
---
S51 cannot be named, and I've already used it. A lot.
---
Continuing training for the time being. I do suddenly understand the underleveled bit, though. *Ahem Dunsparce Gang Dunseraph ahem*
Although I DID online battle somebody with a level 48 Eletruxo and defeat it and the following Lv 45 what's it's name that I assume to be an evolution of Glaslug.
EDIT: Though, it was Metalynx Leech-seed stalling.

Terlard learns Earthquake at Lv.44 and Modrille learns Earthquake at Lv.33.

When I said Chicoatl was strong, I meant it's final evolution. It does evolve into a grass/flying but then it changes type again when it evolves a second time. You may wanna change it out with Terlard, as it becomes pretty weak later in the game (it also has a 4x weakness to ice, which is common at tye end of the current beta).
On a side note: I've never heard the nickname rule before. Is that an optional rule like the duplicate clause?

The nickname is a main rule of lockes. You have to nickname every pokemon that you can name.

Many of the rules of nuzlockes are optional. The nickname one isn't always a requirement, but is done to reinforce the idea of a nuzlocke, which is to develop a close bond with the pokemon that you catch and not worry about finding a specific one with so-and-so stats.

There are two and only two rules required to be a "true" Nuzlocke. First catch on a route is the only thing you get, and fainting equals death.

Everything else - nicknaming, shop or center restrictions, limiting trade evolutions - is up to the discretion of the player. Like Bocajian said, though, nicknaming Pokemon is just a commonly-accepted tradition because it reinforces the bond you make with your team. People might think it a little odd if you didn't name them, but it doesn't disqualify it from being a Nuzlocke.

I mostly trained Flaragon for that one, and he did most of the damage. Nulekon (Nuclear Arbok) did one of his very rare "Hmph I didn't hear that" moments, so he couldn't take part due to the risk. Orca (Metalynx) dealt the final blow.

As a side note, so much for feral Nuclear. Most of the time Nulekon listens, or "Nulekon Ignored Orders! Nulekon used [what you told it to use]!"

Huh, so it changes again? I would honestly have never expected that. As mentioned, I never thought that Terlard would be weak, but she's recently shown that quality of hers. My evaluation: "Perhaps Chicoatl is a good idea." Like a Star @ heaven
